![]() ![]() I love the Lightguide because I use a lot of Kontakt hosted libraries with a lot of weird key switches, but finally, I bet on build quality and mostly on Key action and finally I bought a Roland RD-2000. Need to use Komplete Kontrol Software to host all the instruments if I want to take the full functionality of the keyboard. (Absolutely personal and I am sure that with time I will be ok more or less with the action.) I am not a professional pianist but I hate this spongy feeling. When I tried the action is not very good. (Keys that fail with the time, cheap construction.) Too much people talking about the bad quality overall of the keyboard. I was really close to buying a Komplete S88 MKII Keyboard but finally I las week I decided another path. But despite this and despite any hassle using the KK shell, it is already big help to my workflow and one I don't want to give up.Īlthough I totally understand that it isn't for everybody. It takes me a few seconds to bring some or all of these instruments into one of my songs ready to go in KK. I have various Cubase templates with dozens of my favorite instruments loaded up as deactivated instances within Komplete Kontrol. The keyboard is just a vessel for the software and not the other way around. NKS has additional features, like pre-mapping all the patches to the controller knobs (although some developers do this a lot better than others) and providing audio samples of each patch, so you can hear them immediately, without loading them. But you have to load them into KK or you lose all that added functionality. ![]() There are also many non-NKS libraries that map all the knobs-like all the ujam libraries (aside from the guitars, which are NKS). When I loaded Karoryfer Samples' Sforzando library "Hadziha" into KK. Remember that the light guides also work with many if not most instruments whether they are Kontakt or not. ![]() This is not something that can just be "put into Kontakt" The light guides have to be lit up by something and that something is Komplete Kontrol software. If you connect two NKS keyboards at the same time, it can only work with one of them. Depending on which keyboard is connected, it works somewhat differently. The Komplete Kontrol software does a handshake with each NKS equipped keyboard. ![]() I really want one but I'm just back to circling round all the other choices that don't blow my skirt up either. It also doesn't work with instruments that are hosted in VEPro so if you use VEPro, and you buy one of these, then it's suddenly a very expensive controller that's missing the main point of buying one. I was so bummed out about this when it got released and since using one for a while at the studio I work at, I still look at it every time thinking, "You could be so much more. I just mean, I want the Lightguide to reflect what is show in the Kontakt keyboard. And when I say built into Kontakt, I don't mean the GUI changing and having to be limited like Kontrol is in comparison. Having kontrol built into Kontakt would be good. Along comes a keyboard with a light system to show you where all your weird drum hits are, playable ranges, key switches, etc and then you realise you have to use Kontrol. Some of us supplement with wind controllers, guitar MIDI, drum pads, MPE devices, slider controllers, etc.īased on where you're coming from, I highly recommend the S88 MKII, particularly if you work with one of the DAWs it is well integrated with, like Cubase and Logic.Ĭouldn't say it better. I don't think that any piano-style MIDI controller is the ultimate tool for recording each and every one of the countless virtual instruments that exist. You can really get it pretty close to the way you want. If you want to play piano, there are additional adjustments you can make in most piano virtual instruments (Keyscape, KeySuite, ArtVista, etc). If people critique the action, I would ask how much setting up they've done. This is typical for MIDI keyboards-the "feel" is kind of an illusion that can be tricked out with a different velocity setting. When I first played my S88 I was a little disappointed with the way it played, but after I adjusted the velocity within Komplete Kontrol I was fine. For me it was easy, because I had an S49 and loved all the NKS features. As you know, of you want an 88 key keyboard with NKS light guides there are only two that are sold: S88 MkI and S88 MkII. ![]()

![]() ![]() If you do it at home, Nartova says the easiest way as a beginner is with the strip technique similar to how you would with a strip waxing kit. That said, Nartova says it is still possible to try it at home. "Easy" wouldn't be the first (or second or third) word I would use to describe sugaring, let alone a DIY sugar wax. "Some people have irritation right away, and that’s why they really need to make sure every single hair is removed in the natural direction of the hair growth," she says. Once you get the hang of it, sugaring at home is doable, but she always recommends those with sensitive skin see a professional if possible. "A lot of people when they try sugaring at home try flicking the sugar up, instead of parallel to the skin, which is more irritating," says Nartova. The reason, she says, is because there’s a special flick to to the removal-something that, obviously, professionals learn over time. ![]() "It’s definitely going to take you a little bit longer, and it might be a little bit more painful when you flick it off if you do it yourself," Nartova explains. Will it be as quick and easy as an experience at the salon? No. " This helps reduce the risk of inflammation and any post-treatment bumps." So you tell me, which sounds like the better option? If we're talkin' about Brazilian waxes and bikini lines, I would much rather go with the less painful one, but again, it's up to you. "We try to mimic the direction of the hair growth so the follicle on the inside of the skin is not disturbed," says Nartova. With sugaring, you apply it in the opposite direction and then flick it in the natural direction of the hair growth. When you wax, you apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth, then rip it off in the opposite direction. And lastly, the direction the hair is pulled makes a big difference. ![]() ![]() ![]() Identified Rhythm: Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib) 8. That's when they introduced the Edison, which was a glue-dispensing robot. But for whatever reason, I guess because she was promising that the technology was already real to investors, she lost patience and pivoted away. Some people who worked with the company back then said maybe if they had stuck with it for five or ten more years, they might have started getting some results. Unfortunately, they couldn't get anywhere with it because that stuff is really hard. And that was, ironically, the most ambitious thing that Theranos ever worked on. ![]() So then they worked on the microfluidic cartridge and reader system for several years. If this happens, the condition is called obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy”. The ventricle size often remains normal, but the thickening may block blood flow out of the ventricle. This was linked to hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, which is more commonly referred to ‘HOCM’ and defined by the American Heart Association as: “ Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy occurs if heart muscle cells enlarge and cause the walls of the ventricles (usually the left ventricle) to thicken. Indeed, Fabrice Muamba, a professional footballer that played for Bolton Wanderers, collapsed during a football game against Tottenham Hotspurs in 2012. This type of syncope is usually the result of abnormalities often seen abnormally fast or slow heart rates, and in more severe cases even sudden death. The last cause relates to abnormalities arising from the heart. in which independent stimulation of left ventricular mechanoreceptors led to minimal changes in heart rate and arterial resistance. A mechanism later disproved by Wright et al. Oberg and Thoren reported that stimulation of left ventricular mechanoreceptors lead to a marked reduction in heart rate and reflex dilatation of arterial resistance and venous capacitance vessels. The question is what the trigger for the dilatation of vessels? One of the classical triggers for syncope was the stimulation of left ventricular mechanoreceptors. Heat works to exacerbate this process as blood pools in dilated vessels and this triggers the fainting episode. The stimulus in this case is the stationary position which leads to blood pooling in the legs and effectively reducing the volume of blood circulating through the cardiovascular system. One common example is seen in soldiers that stand to attention whilst on parade for hours on end. Reflex and syncopeĪ reflex has a stimulus (input) and leads to a reaction (output) and in this scenario syncope is the body’s natural response to a stimulus such as prolonged standing. The symptoms typically experienced include sweating, nausea, light-headedness and visual blurring. Orthostatic hypotension can occur as a side effect to medical treatments and drinking alcohol can also lead to a fall in blood pressure and increase the prevalence of syncope. This typically occurs when relaxing in a warm bath for a long period and then suddenly standing upright. When standing-up blood pressure momentarily drops and heart rate increases to counteract the pressure change. Orthostatic hypotension is commonly referred to as low blood pressure and can occur acutely when going from a sitting to standing position. Three common causes of syncope Orthostatic hypotension and syncope The most common causes of syncope are depicted in Figure 1 and are discussed in more detail below.įigure 1. ![]() Syncope is a condition that seems unique to humans, although the search for acute models of syncope continues. Fainting is characterised as the “… transient loss of consciousness caused by insufficient blood flow to the brain characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous and complete recovery”. Around 30% of people experience a loss of consciousness due to a syncope event during their lifetime however, its cause remains unclear. The medical term for fainting is ‘syncope’ derived from Greek word ‘synkope’ meaning contraction or cutting off. Syncope, diet, blood pressure Introduction The aim of this article is to outline the three main causes of syncope as well as outline diets, both in terms of food and fluid intake, can be used to manage the symptoms of syncope. The three most common causes of syncope include reduced blood pressure (commonly referred to as orthostatic hypotension), reflex induced changes in blood pressure in response to a stimulus such as the sight of needles or blood and lastly an underlying cardiovascular disease or condition. The causes of syncope are many with common examples including fainting at the sight of blood or passing-out whilst coughing. On a population level, it is estimated to affect around 1 in 3 people. Syncope is defined as a temporary, rapid loss of consciousness caused by fall in blood pressure that is relatively short-lasting. ![]() |
